Things we should we not use in acne

There are many substances that should not be used by people who have conditions like acne and the most harmful of these is the use of cosmetics. Any kind of skin disorder does not permit the use of topical medicines until and unless they are prescribed. A major error that is done by many people is the use of over the counter medicines by patients without prescription.

This is a blunder that leads to worsening of the condition and is extremely harmful in the long run. There are many other dietary inhibitions that are associated with patients with acne. These include strict staying away from the use of saturated oils as well as dry fruits, alcohol and chocolates as all these can lead to an exacerbation of symptoms.
Another important factor to control for people with conditions of acne is to avoid the use of oral contraceptives as this can lead to further worsening of the condition and should not be used at all costs.

Use of skin care products such as perfumed soaps with antiseptic properties is inhibited as the dryness as a result of such products can be very harmful for patients with Acne Vulgaris.
One should never try herbal and home remedies as this a medical condition requiring proper treatment and does not subside unless it is approached in the right manner.

The patients who have been diagnosed to have acne in early childhood should be told before hand that they are prone to the development of lesions later on in life and thus they should take all possible precautionary measures to avoid the situation. Use of excessive medication can be a cause of exacerbation of attack.
